ARTIST STATEMENT
As a painter, my intention is to explore ideas of internal reflection,
personal growth, and spiritual pursuit conveyed through abstract art in contemporary thought. I seek to invite the viewer beneath complex compositions, generating a visual curiosity to linger and encounter an experience with themselves within the context of each painting. I'm fascinated with utilizing irrational lines to construct an initial "problem" to solve through deconstruction and reconstitution of spaces and shapes until the final result is achieved. Much of my work begins with charcoal and ink but primarily comprises acrylic and oil.Anne Cullum![]()
