Frank Holzenburg is a German based artist, living in Kassel, the hometown of Documenta - the world’s most significant exhibition of contemporary art. Studying fine arts and geography, he became acquainted with medieval book illumination as student and was fascinated right away. Before solely focusing on his miniatures, Frank worked as puppeteer, graphic designer, and teacher.His work calls to mind the notion of reducing something to its most minimalistic form, and so to capture its essence.
